Synopsis: Published in 2002 to mark the centenary of the relationship between the Wimbledon Championships and the Slazenger Company, who had supplied the balls to every tournament during that period. The book chronicles that relationship and also provides a brief history of the company that has been synonymous with racket sports, cricket and golf for 120 years.
Biography of Brian Simpson: Brian Simpson has been associated with the Dunlop and Slazenger companies for nearly fifty years. He joined the Dunlop Footwear Division in 1955 and subsequently held senior management positions in that business, in the Dunlopillo Division and in Dunlop Slazenger where for seven years he was President of the North American operations and later Managing Director, Europe. Also active in industry affairs he was chairman of the UK Foam Industry, a director of the USA National Golf Foundation, President of the North American Tennis Foundation, a vice-president of Cardiff Chamber of Commerce and a director of CBI Wales. He was awarded an OBE in 1982 for services to Welsh Industry. He and his wife now live in a small Radnorshire village just a few minutes away from the famous book town of Hay-on-Wye.
